Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai attended the closing and award ceremony of the WAKO India National Kickboxing Championship 2025 held at the Sardar Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium in Raipur. He welcomed the nearly 1200 participants from 28 states and 300 coaches to Chhattisgarh, highlighting its rich cultural and geographical diversity. He emphasized the importance of sports like kickboxing in fostering courage, strength, and resolve among the youth. The Chief Minister praised the efforts to promote sports through infrastructure development, training, and incentive schemes, and mentioned the Chhattisgarh Sports Promotion Scheme. He also congratulated Punjab, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu for securing the top three positions in the competition and acknowledged Chhattisgarh’s sixth-place finish, along with the Assam Rifles being awarded as the best disciplined team. The event also saw addresses from MP Brijmohan Agrawal and Mayor Meenal Choubey.
