The weather in Chhattisgarh is once again showing signs of change. The Meteorological Department has issued Yellow and Orange alerts for several districts in the state. The forecast includes heavy thunderstorms, lightning strikes, strong winds blowing at 30-40 kmph, and moderate to heavy rainfall.
According to the Meteorological Department, districts like Sukma, Bijapur, South Bastar Dantewada, Mahasamund, Baloda Bazar, Janjgir-Champa, Raigarh, Bilaspur, Korba, Jashpur, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Mungeli, and Surguja are expected to experience rain accompanied by strong winds. Furthermore, districts such as Bastar, Narayanpur, Kondagaon, North Bastar Kanker, Dhamtari, Balod, Rajnandgaon, Gariaband, Raipur, Durg, Bemetara, Kabirdham, Surajpur, Korea, and Balrampur have also been placed on alert.
Warnings have been issued for lightning strikes and heavy rainfall in these areas. The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) and local authorities have appealed to the public to avoid open spaces, under trees, near electric poles, or in fields during adverse weather conditions.
Heavy rainfall is expected in South Chhattisgarh over the next 5 days. The Meteorological Department anticipates an increase in the distribution and intensity of rainfall in South Chhattisgarh over the next 5 days, with heavy rainfall expected in some locations. Therefore, people are advised to regularly monitor the weather updates and take necessary precautions.
