Udit Pradhan, the president of Odisha’s Chhatra Congress, has been arrested and suspended from the NSUI following allegations of sexual assault. The charges involve drugging a 19-year-old woman with a spiked drink at a Bhubaneswar hotel before committing the alleged rape. The incident, which occurred on March 18, has led to an FIR being filed at the Mancheswar Police Station.
The victim reported meeting two friends at Master Canteen Chowk in Bhubaneswar, where Pradhan joined them. The police confirmed the arrest and the registration of the FIR, stating the investigation is ongoing. Following the arrest, Pradhan’s supporters protested outside the police station, but law and order were maintained. The NSUI has since dismissed Pradhan.
