BJP MP Samik Bhattacharya has strongly criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of playing politics over irrelevant matters. Bhattacharya’s remarks came in response to Gandhi’s claims of being silenced in the Lok Sabha, which Bhattacharya dismissed as a publicity stunt lacking substance. He asserted that Gandhi and the Congress have failed to present themselves as a responsible opposition, and that the party is not viewed as a credible political force. BJP MP Jagdambika Pal also commented on the situation, stating that Gandhi should allow the House to function if he wishes to speak. Pal clarified that disruptions caused by Congress members, not the Chair, hindered parliamentary proceedings. The monsoon session of Parliament has seen the opposition raising various issues, including the Pahalgam terror attack and electoral roll revisions in Bihar, which led to adjournments in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
