A tragic incident occurred in the Haldipokhar market area of the Kowali police station jurisdiction in East Singhbhum district, Jharkhand, late Tuesday night. A speeding, unidentified vehicle struck a group of cows that were sitting on the side of the road. Three cows died at the scene, while another was seriously injured. The injured cow is receiving treatment under the supervision of veterinarians from the Department of Animal Husbandry. Following the incident, local residents expressed outrage, calling the event a display of carelessness and cruelty. They emphasized that such incidents, regardless of the animals involved, are heinous crimes, and they urged the administration to take strict action. Kowali Police Station in-charge Dhananjay Kumar Paswan arrived at the scene immediately after receiving the information. He arranged for a JCB machine to remove the deceased cows from the road and clear the path. The dead cows were later buried in a nearby vacant lot on Wednesday with the assistance of local residents.
