A man in Jharkhand’s Koderma district died after being attacked by an elephant while he was attempting to film videos with the animal. The incident occurred in the Salaiya Pahari forest area under the Markachcho police station limits. The 30-year-old victim, identified as Saddam Ansari, had gone to the forest with two friends after learning about the presence of elephants. He started taking selfies and making reels near the herd. One of the elephants became agitated and charged at them. While Ansari’s friends managed to escape, he got his foot caught in the bushes and fell. The elephant then trampled him. Ansari was rushed to a local hospital and later referred to RIMS hospital in Ranchi, but he succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital. The incident highlights the risks people take for social media fame. This incident follows a similar event in March where a herd of elephants killed four villagers in Simdega and Gumla districts of Jharkhand.
