On the occasion of the third Monday of Sawan, 60 Kanwariyas from the village of Bhagwanpur Vishunpur Bande in Vaishali district set off to offer Jalabhishek at Baba Garibnath Temple in Muzaffarpur, carrying a 331-foot long Kanwar. The Kanwariyas are carrying water from the Uttarahini Ganga at the Paleza Ghat in the Saran district. The distance from Paleza Ghat to Baba Garibnath Temple is approximately 70 kilometers. The devotees are undertaking the journey barefoot. The construction of this massive Kanwar was done under the guidance of Mahesh Gupta.
They mentioned that they have been consistently carrying the Kanwar to offer Jalabhishek to the Baba for the past five years. They added that the Kanwar is constructed with the support of villagers every year and the cost incurred is 1 lakh 50 thousand rupees. A large crowd gathered along the Paleza Ganga Ghat to Hajipur-Muzaffarpur Kanwar route to witness this unique Kanwar.
Meanwhile, a woman from Hajipur said that she had seen such a unique 331-foot Kanwar for the first time in her life and felt good about it. All the devotees should go to the abode of Lord Bhole. Mahesh Bhagat, who is leading the Kanwar, said that 60 Shiva devotees are going to offer Jalabhishek of Baba Garibnath carrying a 331-foot Kanwar. 40 other Shiva devotees are also involved in supporting the Kanwar procession.
A total of 100 Shiva devotees are involved in the Kanwar Yatra. A group of hundreds of devotees chanting ‘Bol Bam’ is going to Baba Garibnath Temple on the Kanwar Yatra. They said that all the Kanwariyas are taking water from the Uttarahini Ganga at Paleza Ghat in Saran district. The distance from here to Baba Garibnath Temple is about 70 kilometers. The entire atmosphere on the Kanwar route is filled with devotion with the chants of Lord Bholenath. Shiva devotee Mahesh Bhagat said that this is the 5th time the Kanwar is being carried.
