The arrest stems from allegations of child pornography involvement. Law enforcement discovered over 1200 photos and videos related to child pornography on his electronic devices. The arrest followed tips received on social media platforms. Patel faces nine counts of sexually exploiting a minor, classified as serious crimes. Court documents reveal explicit requests for child sexual abuse materials in chat logs. The hospital stated Patel had passed background checks at the time of hiring and is no longer employed there. A judge has set a $100,000 cash-only appearance bond for Patel.
