Microsoft is discontinuing free security support for Windows 10 users after October 2025. Users will no longer receive security updates, technical assistance, or software upgrades without paying. While computers will continue to function, this change poses a security risk. Microsoft will offer Extended Security Updates (ESU) for an annual fee of approximately $30 (₹2500). This service provides crucial security updates but does not include new features or technical support. Users can also utilize Microsoft Rewards Points for the ESU service. Microsoft also provides 5GB of free cloud storage on OneDrive, with 100GB available for an annual fee. To maintain security without cost, users should install and update antivirus software, keep browsers and internet software updated, avoid suspicious links, and back up important files. Upgrading to Windows 11 is recommended for enhanced security features, long-term support, and improved performance.
