In a significant meeting held in New Delhi, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai engaged in a courtesy visit with Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil. A detailed discussion took place regarding the Bodhghat Multipurpose Project, a highly anticipated and strategically important initiative for the Bastar region. This project is designed to address the water needs of the area, potentially revolutionizing its economic and social landscape. The meeting highlighted that the project would facilitate irrigation for approximately 8 lakh hectares of land, directly benefiting farmers. Furthermore, the project aims to generate 125 MW of electricity, catering significantly to the region’s energy demands, alongside a robust system for providing clean drinking water to both rural and urban areas. The Union Minister assured full cooperation from the central government, recognizing the project’s potential to boost social upliftment, job creation, and industrial development in Bastar. The focus now remains on the collaborative efforts of the central and state governments to expedite the project’s implementation, with expectations of a transformative impact on the Bastar region in the coming years.
