Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated the 20th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, disbursing over 20,500 crore rupees directly to the accounts of more than 9.7 crore farmers across India via DBT. Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Vishnu Deo Sai, connected virtually with farmers from the auditorium of the Horticultural and Forestry University in Raipur. Addressing the large farmers’ conference, the Prime Minister highlighted that since 2019, 3.75 lakh crore rupees have been directly transferred to farmers’ accounts under the PM Kisan scheme. The government is committed to farmer prosperity, with the PM Kisan scheme serving as a prime example. Additionally, the Prime Minister announced the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhan Yojana for districts lagging in agricultural development, with a provision of 24,000 crore rupees. The government is also investing heavily in irrigation projects to ensure water access to fields, aiming to boost production. Furthermore, the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana provides relief to farmers during natural disasters. The Prime Minister emphasized the economic empowerment of women, noting that over 1.5 crore women have become Lakhpati Didis, with half the work completed towards a 3 crore target. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai extended greetings for the holy month of Shravan and prayed for Chhattisgarh’s well-being and prosperity. He announced that over 25 lakh farmers in Chhattisgarh received over 553.34 crore rupees under the PM Kisan scheme.
