Controversy continues to brew in Bihar regarding alleged discrepancies in the voter list, with the opposition raising concerns. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav had previously targeted the Election Commission on this issue, sharing a post by former IAS officer Vyas Ji, claiming that both the officer and his wife’s names were missing from the voter list. However, the Election Commission refuted Yadav’s claim, stating that neither Vyas Ji nor his wife’s names had been removed. The commission clarified that both names were present in the draft voter list published on August 1, 2025, as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign, 2025. In a Facebook post, the former IAS officer had detailed his experience searching for his and his wife’s names on the voter list portal. He expressed frustration when the system prompted him to contact his BLO, despite the fact that the necessary forms had been completed and submitted. Vyas Ji lamented the situation, questioning the fairness of the process, especially for less educated citizens. Earlier, Tejashwi Yadav had claimed his name was also missing from the draft voter list, which the Election Commission dismissed as baseless, stating that Yadav’s name was present in the Bihar draft voter list at serial number 416.
