The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in several districts of Jharkhand today. The capital city, Ranchi, may experience light showers, but no alert has been issued for it. The districts under the yellow alert include Garhwa, Chatra, Palamu, Latehar, Deoghar, Giridih, Dhanbad, Jamtara, Dumka, Godda, Sahibganj, and Pakur. Heavy rainfall is expected in these areas. Strong winds and lightning are also possible in some regions. According to the weather department, a cyclone is active in Bengal and Bihar, which is expected to bring heavy rainfall in these areas within the next 24 hours. Rainfall is expected in Ranchi on August 8th. In the last 24 hours, Godda (Pathargama) received 170.2 mm of rainfall, Pakur received 81.4 mm, Dumka received 35.3 mm, Latehar received 54 mm, Medininagar received 10 mm, Bokaro received 3 mm, and Ranchi received 1 mm.
