Following the controversy surrounding Tejashwi Yadav, another instance of duplicate EPIC numbers has emerged in Bihar. This time, it involves the wife of CPI (ML) MP Sudama Prasad from Ara. The revelation comes after the release of the draft voter list in Bihar, which has brought such discrepancies to light. The Election Commission has already issued a notice to Tejashwi Yadav regarding his two EPIC numbers, requesting the original copies of both IDs. The valid EPIC number for Tejashwi Yadav is RAB0456228, while no record exists for RAB2916120.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) released the draft voter list for Bihar on August 1. Political parties and voters have until September 1 to request additions or deletions in the list. The ECI emphasizes that the draft voter list is not the final list, and the final list will be published on September 30 to ensure no eligible voter is disenfranchised. The Election Commission has removed 6.5 million names under the first phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.
