Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and founder of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Shibu Soren, has passed away. He had been ill for a long time and was undergoing treatment at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi. His passing was confirmed by Chief Minister Hemant Soren through a heartfelt post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). He wrote, “Respected Dishom Guruji has left all of us. Today, I am empty.” Shibu Soren, known as ‘Dishom Guru’ throughout the state, led the movement to create a separate state of Jharkhand. He was born on January 11, 1944, in the village of Nemra in the Ramgarh district. After his father was murdered, he entered politics and prioritized the fight for the rights of the tribal community throughout his life.
