Madhya Pradesh police have apprehended a woman and her male companion in connection with the tragic suicide of a family of four in Khurai. The victims, including a 45-year-old man, his mother, and two teenage children, were discovered deceased in their home on the night of July 25-26 after consuming a poisonous substance. The man’s mother and son were pronounced dead at the scene, while the man and his daughter succumbed to their injuries during treatment. Investigations revealed that the man’s wife was allegedly involved in an extramarital affair with a childhood friend, which the man’s mother strongly disapproved of. Despite objections, the woman reportedly threatened to falsely accuse the family of a dowry-related case. Furthermore, the couple’s daughter had reportedly witnessed her mother in compromising situations multiple times. Authorities have determined that the illicit relationship was the primary cause of the suicides, leading to the arrest and subsequent imprisonment of the woman and her lover. Further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
