In anticipation of upcoming festivals, the Food Safety Department has initiated a crackdown on food adulteration in Raipur. On Monday, a team of food safety officers raided the well-known Haldiram’s restaurant in Shankar Nagar. During the inspection, the team seized samples of sweets and sent them to a laboratory for testing. Prior to this, the department had also raided the Sweet Hut & Bakers shop in the Telibandha area, collecting samples of food items for laboratory analysis. These actions are part of the ‘Bane Khabo-Bane Rahiho’ special campaign. The Food Department is conducting raids in various locations, collecting samples of sweets, namkeen, and other food items. Officials have stated that strict action will be taken against shopkeepers found guilty after the investigation reports are received. The department aims to ensure that people receive pure and safe food during the festive season. The Food Safety Department has indicated that this campaign will be intensified in the coming days, adopting a zero-tolerance policy against food adulterators to protect public health during festivals.
