Mohammed Siraj was the standout performer in India’s historic six-run victory at the Oval Test. Siraj took a total of nine wickets in the match, including five in the second innings. His lethal bowling stopped England just six runs short of victory, securing a memorable win for India. The BCCI provides a match fee of 15 lakh rupees to players selected in the playing 11 for each Test match. Siraj will also receive this amount for the Oval Test. In addition to this, Siraj will also be awarded an extra 5 lakh rupees from the BCCI, due to a special reason. The BCCI has a special rule that when a bowler takes 5 or more wickets in an innings, they are awarded a bonus of 5 lakh rupees along with the match fee. Siraj, by taking 5 wickets in the second innings, became eligible for this special bonus. Siraj was also awarded the Player of the Match award for his memorable performance in the Oval Test. However, there is no rule to provide money for becoming Player of the Match in England, as is usually seen in India. The player is given a check along with the trophy.
