Discussions during the meeting revolved around various projects, with a particular focus on the current status of the Tajpur port. The Bengal government recently decided to issue a new tender for this port. It is believed that Adani and CM Mamata discussed this matter during their meeting.
Several reasons are being suggested for the meeting between Adani and CM Mamata. However, the Tajpur port is currently the most discussed topic. The Bengal government recently terminated the four-year-old partnership with the Adani Group for the Tajpur port project, which is estimated to cost Rs 25,000 crore. Along with this, the decision to issue a new tender has been made.
The Tajpur port is considered a strategic infrastructure project for eastern India. Therefore, both the Bengal government and the Adani Group have their eyes on it.
