Opposition parties have criticized the central government’s deployment of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) within the Rajya Sabha. Congress MP Renuka Chowdhury, along with CPI(M) MP John Brittas, DMK MP Tiruchi Siva, and Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, raised concerns about the role of security forces in the Parliament, labeling it a threat to democracy. Chowdhury strongly questioned the government, asking, “Are we terrorists or Naxalites?” She highlighted that the government does not apprehend actual terrorists, yet deploys CISF to intimidate them. She asserted that they would not be frightened. Chowdhury also alleged that women, especially herself, were targeted in the Parliament.
She further stated that the authorities are failing to capture real terrorists, citing the time taken to apprehend those involved in the Pahalgam attack. She questioned the authenticity of those apprehended and criticized the targeting of women in Parliament. She issued a warning, emphasizing that women’s anger should not be underestimated.
