Following the passing of Shibu Soren, a prominent leader from Jharkhand and the founder of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha party, on August 4th, calls for honoring him with the Bharat Ratna have emerged. Minister Irfan Ansari, upon paying his respects to Dishom Guru, stated his request to the President to bestow the Bharat Ratna upon Soren, emphasizing his revolutionary spirit and his voice for the underprivileged. He also highlighted that Soren was a true deserving candidate. Soren, who had been battling illness for a while, passed away at the age of 81 after being admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi since June 19th. Pappu Yadav, a Member of Parliament, also advocated for the Bharat Ratna for Dishom Guru Shibu Soren, describing him as a symbol of humanity and a voice for the exploited and marginalized. Yadav reflected on his lifelong association with Soren, recalling his fearless spirit. The absence of Dishom Guru has cast a pall of sadness over Jharkhand. Minister Irfan Ansari expressed that Soren’s absence would never be filled, while reflecting on the grief and challenges ahead. The minister urged that Soren be awarded the Bharat Ratna as soon as possible, recognizing his lifelong fight for the poor and the marginalized.
