Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan stated on Tuesday that the Indian Army must be prepared to respond to any violent acts by Pakistan. Addressing a program, the CDS emphasized the need to challenge Pakistan’s comprehensive resistance doctrine and asserted that terrorists cannot find sanctuary in any part of Pakistan. He reiterated during the inaugural session of the annual Trident lecture series that military readiness must be of the highest standard, requiring preparedness 24/7, 365 days a year. He also highlighted the blurring distinction between war and peace, suggesting they are merging.
