Television actress Dipika Kakar, winner of Bigg Boss 12, celebrates her 39th birthday. Her life story reads like a captivating drama, filled with love, divorce, religious conversion, and a fresh start. She has faced challenges head-on and is now a successful actress, wife, and mother.
Dipika’s first marriage was with Raunak Samson, a pilot. They wed in 2008 but divorced three years later, in 2011. This period was difficult for her, as she was starting her career while navigating personal turmoil. Various rumors circulated about the divorce, including speculation about her closeness with Shoaib Ibrahim, which she refuted.
In an interview, she reflected on the divorce, stating that not all love marriages succeed due to compatibility issues. She acknowledged the pain of breaking a relationship and mentioned the support she received from her parents and Shoaib Ibrahim during that challenging time. She has expressed a desire to move past that phase of her life.
After the divorce, Dipika focused on her career. In 2011, she landed the lead role of ‘Simar’ in the show ‘Sasural Simar Ka,’ which brought her overnight fame. She met Shoaib Ibrahim on the set, where he played her on-screen husband, ‘Prem.’ Their friendship blossomed into love, and they kept their relationship private for years before publicly acknowledging it in 2017.
The relationship between Dipika and Shoaib was often in the headlines due to their different religions. Dipika decided to convert to Islam and marry Shoaib in 2018, changing her name to ‘Faiza.’ This decision drew criticism and accusations of ‘love jihad’ on social media. However, both Dipika and Shoaib disregarded the negativity.
In an interview after her marriage, Dipika addressed her conversion, stating that it was a personal matter and that she was happy and proud of her decision. She emphasized that her family supported her and that her intention was not to hurt anyone.
Dipika has also faced trolling regarding both her personal and professional life. After her marriage, she participated in ‘Bigg Boss 12’ and won, despite some criticism claiming that she only won because she was favored by the channel. Even after taking a break from acting to focus on her family, she was trolled for being a ‘servant’ to her in-laws. In a vlog, Dipika and Shoaib responded to the trolls.
Dipika has said, ‘If girls say, ‘my in-laws are like my father,’ doesn’t that mean I don’t have the right to be loved like a daughter? My in-laws, my mother-in-law, and my sister-in-law love me like their daughter. If your father-in-law comes home from the hospital, wouldn’t you give him your bed?’
She continued to face criticism after becoming a mother. During her pregnancy with her son Ruhaan, she was accused of abandoning her daughter from her first marriage. She has stated that she found such accusations distressing, especially during her pregnancy. She questioned why people would make such claims about her son’s arrival, as there was no truth to them.
