A Ghana Armed Forces helicopter crashed near Sikaman in the Adansi Akrofuom area of the Ashanti Region on Wednesday morning, resulting in the deaths of all eight individuals on board. The aircraft, identified as Ghana Armed Forces Helicopter 29, departed from Accra at 9:12 a.m., en route to Obuasi. The crash occurred shortly after takeoff, with no survivors. Among the casualties are Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, the Minister of Defence, and Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, the Minister for Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation. The Ghana Armed Forces has confirmed the loss of both crew and passengers, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause.
