A meeting of the India Alliance is scheduled to take place today in Delhi. A key agenda item will be the restoration of statehood for Jammu and Kashmir. National Conference President Farooq Abdullah has confirmed that this issue will be raised during the meeting. Meanwhile, five new judges of the Allahabad High Court are set to be sworn in today in the Chief Justice’s chamber. The new judges include Pramod Kumar Srivastava, Zafir Ahmad, Santosh Rai, Abdul Shahid, and Tej Pratap Tiwari. The Union Ministry of Law and Justice had issued a notification in this regard on August 4th. In Uttar Pradesh, the fortunes of many farmers are about to change. The state’s agricultural department, under the chairmanship of the DM in all districts, will conduct an e-lottery to select farmers for the provision of agricultural machinery on subsidy. This process will continue in all districts on August 7th and 8th.
