The Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana (PM Free Electricity Scheme) is proving beneficial for residents of Bilaspur district, mirroring its positive impact across the country. This initiative not only fosters environmental conservation but also provides respite from high electricity bills amidst rising inflation. Anjali Singh, a resident of Ashok Nagar in Bilaspur district, has installed a 3-kilowatt solar plant on her rooftop. The total cost of the solar plant was 1 lakh 85 thousand rupees, with the central government providing a subsidy of 78 thousand rupees.
