Ather is reportedly preparing to introduce cruise control functionality in its 450 series of electric scooters. Media reports suggest that this announcement is anticipated during the company’s 2025 Community Day, scheduled for August 30, 2025. Ather may also launch a new entry-level model on this day. Furthermore, the event could bring updates to the manufacturer’s existing models. While the specifics of these updates remain unconfirmed officially, sources within the industry indicate that Ather might add cruise control as a significant feature to the 450 series.
The current 450 series includes three models: the 450s, 450X, and 450 Apex. It is believed that the cruise control feature will be incorporated into the 450X and 450 Apex, with existing customers receiving the feature through an update. However, this update will only be available for vehicles equipped with the Atherstack Pro software. This feature is not entirely new to the Indian electric scooter market; in June 2022, Ola Electric integrated cruise control into its S1 series through the Move OS 2.0 update, which was later enhanced with Move OS 4.0.
