At the inauguration of the comprehensive development plan for the Punauradham temple and complex, the birthplace of Goddess Sita in Sitamarhi, Bihar, Union Home Minister Amit Shah flagged off the Sitamarhi-Delhi Amrit Bharat Express and unveiled the design of the Janaki Temple. During the event, he criticized Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of engaging in vote-bank politics, and stated that Gandhi was already citing reasons for an anticipated defeat in the upcoming Bihar elections. Shah also targeted the Congress and RJD for their criticism of the SIR (Special Investigation and Rehabilitation) process, asserting that infiltrators would never be granted the right to vote. He emphasized the significance of the Punauradham temple, calling it the beginning of a resurgence for Bihar and Mithilanchal, with the aim of re-establishing the region as a center of learning. He highlighted the Modi government’s efforts in honoring Mithila in various ways. He mentioned that the culture of Mithilanchal is a unique gem of Indian culture. A temple of Maa Janaki will be built at a cost of 890 crore rupees. 137 crore rupees will be spent on the renovation of Maa Janaki’s temple. He asserted that Indian culture respects the power of the mother, and that the nation honors the worship of the Mother Goddess. He also referenced Prime Minister Modi’s construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and the renovation of several religious sites.
