Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the foundation stone for the Maa Sita temple at Punaura Dham in Sitamarhi, Bihar. The event was attended by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Sinha. Kumar announced that the central government would invest Rs 883 crores in the redevelopment of the Maa Janki temple complex, along with infrastructure improvements to enhance connectivity between Sitamarhi and Ayodhya. A new train service between Sitamarhi and Delhi was also introduced. Deputy CM Vijay Sinha hailed the occasion as a step toward Bihar’s prosperity and the Prime Minister’s vision for a developed Bihar. Amit Shah had previously expressed the significance of the day for Mithilanchal and the nation, particularly highlighting the comprehensive development plan for the Punaura Dham Temple, the birthplace of Mother Sita. Union Ministers Giriraj Singh and Chirag Paswan also lauded the ceremony, recognizing its historical importance.
