In West Singhbhum, Jharkhand, security forces continued their intensive operations against the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist) organization on Friday. As part of a special operation in the Kolhan-Saranda region, security forces demolished three Naxalite bunkers and recovered a large quantity of Naxalite materials. According to Rakesh Ranjan, the Superintendent of Police, West Singhbhum, top Maoist leaders like Misir Besra, Anmol, Mochu, Anal, Asim Mandal, Ajay Mahto, Sagen Angaria, Ashwin, Pintu Lohra, Chandan Lohra, Amit Hansda alias Apton, Jaykant, Rapa Munda, and other Naxalites were planning disruptive activities with their squads in the Saranda and Kolhan regions. On August 6, the Superintendent of Police, West Singhbhum, received intelligence that Naxalites had hidden materials in the forest-hill areas of the Jaraikela police station area, which they could use in attacks against security forces. Acting on the information, a joint team of Chaibasa police, Cobra 209 Battalion, CRPF, and Jharkhand Jaguar launched the operation. During the operation, three Naxalite bunkers were located and demolished near Handekuli in the forest-hill area of the Jaraikela police station. Batteries with wires, Naxalite green and black uniforms, jungle boots, backpacks, black headbands, steel containers, black polythene, and other daily use items were recovered from these bunkers. The recovered items are being examined, and Naxalite activities are under constant surveillance. The joint operation is currently ongoing in the area, with security forces aiming to destroy every possible hiding place of the Naxalites.
