On Saturday, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren remembered his father, the late Shibu Soren, on World Tribal Day and resolved to follow the paths shown by him. He paid tribute to all the brave ancestors of the tribal community.
The Chief Minister wrote on the social media platform X that today is World Tribal Day. Today, his guide, his guru, his Baba, is not physically with him, but his struggle, his ideas, and his ideals will always inspire them. He was not only his father but also the soul of Jharkhand, a symbol of struggle, and the most vocal protector of water, forests, and land.
The Chief Minister wrote that it is this tribal society that has shown humanity the path to a happy life by making harmony with nature. The life-philosophy of the tribal society begins and ends with nature. But for centuries, the tribals and the exploited-deprived society have been forced to stand on the margins. Baba had devoted his entire life to changing this situation.
He wrote that the programs held across the state on World Tribal Day were dear to Baba. Because this occasion has been a means of uniting the rich civilization and culture of the tribal society. It has become an opportunity to give a global platform to the talent of the tribal society.
The Chief Minister wrote that today the whole world is celebrating World Tribal Day. On this occasion, he salutes Baba Dishom Guru and all those brave ancestors who, through struggle and martyrdom, protected their identity, their culture, their civilization, and their rights. On World Tribal Day, he salutes his brave ancestors and resolves that by walking on the path shown by them, he will raise the torch of tribal identity even higher in Jharkhand and the country. May the brave of Jharkhand live forever. May all the brave tribal warriors of the country live forever. Jai Johar, Jai Adivasiyat, Jai Jharkhand.
The Chief Minister also wrote that a strong village is the foundation of a strong state and a prosperous country.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren also performed the traditional rituals with his family members in accordance with local customs on the fifth day of the traditional Shradh Karma of his father, the late Shibu Soren.
