The second match of the Andhra Premier League 2025 tournament saw a clash between the Vijayawada Sunrisers and the Royals of Rayalaseema, with Vijayawada Sunrisers emerging victorious by 7 wickets. Pyla Avinash of the Royals of Rayalaseema delivered a powerful performance, scoring a blistering 96 runs for his team. He smashed 11 sixes during his innings, showcasing aggressive shot-making all around the field. Despite his efforts, which included four boundaries, his team couldn’t secure a win, although his batting was widely praised. Avinash’s innings of 96 runs came off 39 balls, comprising of four fours and 11 sixes. He targeted every bowler from Vijayawada with aggressive shots. This performance helped Royals to score 196 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. However, Vijayawada won the match within 17 overs, losing only three wickets. Ashwin Hebbar, the captain of the Vijayawada team, played a match-winning knock of 98 runs. Garimella Teja contributed with an unbeaten 77 runs for Vijayawada, hitting 7 fours and six sixes. Vamsi Krishna, the opening batsman, was unable to score big, getting out after scoring 16 runs, while Munnagi Abhinav failed to open his account. Jagarlapuri Ram took three wickets for the Royals. Pyla Avinash was picked up by the Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League 2025 mega auction for 30 lakh rupees. However, he didn’t get a chance to play in the tournament. Avinash made his first-class debut for Andhra Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25, while he made his T20 debut in November 2024 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy where he scored a quick 53 runs off 32 balls against Mumbai. The young player has played 5 T20 matches in Indian domestic cricket so far, scoring 81 runs at a strike rate of 117.39. His best score is 55 runs.
