Both teams are aiming for a victory to prepare for the upcoming T20 World Cup in 2026. Australia has announced Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head as their opening pair for the series. The Proteas have included young talents Dewald Brevis, Tristan Stubbs, and Ryan Rickelton in their squad. Aiden Markram will lead the team, seeking to lead them to victory against the Australian side. Following the T20Is, Australia and South Africa will compete in a three-match ODI series.
