A meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled for August 15th in Alaska. The announcement of this meeting has raised hopes for a potential end to the ongoing war in Ukraine, which has lasted for over three years. However, following the announcement, Ukrainian President Zelensky has signaled a firm stance. Zelensky stated on Sunday that any peace talks excluding Ukraine would be unsuccessful. While there are discussions about including Zelensky in the meeting, the Ukrainian military has escalated its offensive. Ukraine targeted an industrial factory in the Russian city of Saratov, hundreds of miles from Ukrainian territory. According to Newsweek, the regional governor reported on Sunday that the oil refinery was still burning.
