Widespread and intense rainfall is currently affecting various parts of India, from the plains to the mountainous regions. The heavy downpours have led to flooding in several states. The meteorological department has issued a warning for heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand for the next seven days. Himachal Pradesh is also expected to experience heavy rainfall. Additionally, northern areas bordering east-central India may receive heavy rainfall from August 13th to 16th.
In Delhi, after two days of rain, the capital city saw sunshine on Sunday. However, thunderstorms and rain are expected today, with similar weather conditions predicted for August 12th. Cloudy skies and moderate rain are anticipated on August 13th. The rainfall in Delhi could continue until August 16th.
Uttar Pradesh is expected to experience heavy rainfall in many districts today. Starting August 12th, most parts of the state are likely to see thunderstorms and rain, with some areas facing very heavy rainfall. The intensity and extent of the rainfall in UP could increase from tomorrow. Monsoon rains are anticipated to bring heavy downpours in the coming days.
The meteorological department has predicted heavy rainfall in 14 districts of Bihar today. The remaining districts may experience light showers, but very heavy rainfall is expected across Bihar on August 12th and 13th. The neighboring state of Jharkhand may also receive heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours.
In the mountainous states like Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, the rains are causing havoc. The meteorological department has forecasted heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand for the next seven days. People are advised to avoid slippery areas. Himachal Pradesh is under alert for heavy rainfall in several areas for the next four days.
The northeastern states, including Arunachal Pradesh, are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall from today until August 13th, 2025. Rainfall is also expected in Mizoram, Manipur, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Tripura between today and August 14th. Arunachal Pradesh may experience heavy rainfall on August 12th, while Assam and Meghalaya could see heavy rainfall in various areas on August 12th and 13th.
