The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken over the investigation into the case of Abhinand Yesudasan, who mysteriously disappeared from a ship eight years ago. Abhinand, who worked as a pipe fitter, went missing from the ship. The federal agency took over the investigation following an order from the Kerala High Court, which was hearing a petition filed by Yesudasan, the mariner’s father. Abhinand (21), a resident of Kollam, Kerala, was employed at Aries Marines LLC, a company based in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE). During his employment, he vanished from the ship on March 21, 2017, while traveling from Egypt to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
His father reported to the state police that Abhinand had contacted the family several times from Egypt and Turkey and seemed very happy. The father alleged that on March 17, 2017, Abhinand told his family that his colleagues were harassing him because he lacked work experience.
