An Italian athlete participating in the World Games in Chengdu, China, has tragically passed away. Long-distance runner Mattia Debertolis died on Tuesday. The 29-year-old athlete collapsed during a race on August 8th. He was rushed to the hospital in an unconscious state, where he succumbed to his condition. The cause of Mattia Debertolis’s death was heat and humidity. He suffered from heatstroke during the race in Chengdu, leading to his collapse.
