Mercedes-Benz has introduced the new CLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupe in the Indian market. This two-door luxury car, priced at approximately 1.35 crore rupees, combines the performance of the C-Class with the elegance of the E-Class. The car is available for immediate delivery across the country. The CLE 53 is powered by a 3.0-liter M 256M inline 6-cylinder petrol engine featuring twin turbocharging and an electric compressor. This engine incorporates design enhancements such as redesigned inlet and outlet channels, new piston rings, improved injection, and a larger exhaust gas turbocharger, boosting the boost pressure to 1.5 bar. This results in 449 bhp between 5,800-6,100 rpm and 560 Nm of torque between 2,200-5,000 rpm, with an overboost function providing up to 600 Nm of torque for 12 seconds. The gearbox housing includes a second-generation starter generator (ISG) producing 23 bhp and 205 Nm, supporting functions like electric boost, load point shifting, sailing, and almost start-stop operation under a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. The AMG Speed Shift TCT 9G automatic transmission utilizes close-ratio gear ratios to maintain the engine’s power band. It features rev-matched downshifts, multiple downshifts for rapid acceleration, and adaptive shift programming that adjusts based on the selected drive mode. In ‘Sport+’ and manual modes, shifts are immediate, while the ‘Comfort’ mode prioritizes efficiency. The CLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupe accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and has a limited top speed of 250 km/h, which can be optionally increased to 270 km/h. The cabin features leather and microcut microfiber upholstery with AMG graphics and contrast stitching. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster offers multiple layouts, including the AMG ‘Supersport’ mode, which centers the tachometer and displays performance data like G-force, engine temperature, and lap times. An 11.9-inch portrait-oriented central touchscreen runs on the new MBUX system and supports voice, touch, and steering wheel-based controls. 64-color ambient lighting is included.
