The popular quiz show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ (KBC) hosted by Amitabh Bachchan has returned with its 17th season. This time, Big B is seen in a new style in this quiz reality show on Sony TV. Like Big B’s new style, some new rules of the game are also seen in this season, and due to these changes, the show has become even more exciting.
In the second episode, contestant Ashutosh, an Income Tax officer, sitting on the hot seat in front of Amitabh Bachchan, gave a brilliant display of his knowledge, but all his hopes were dashed due to one question. Ashutosh gave the wrong answer to a very difficult question asked for Rs 12.5 lakh.
Ashutosh’s mistake cost him Rs 2.5 lakh, and he had to go home with Rs 5 lakh instead of Rs 7.50 lakh. Ashutosh started his game with the sixth question of Rs 50,000. He correctly answered the question, ‘In which film does Ajay Devgn play the role of Ajay Patnaik?’ with ‘Raid’. Ashutosh, who moved ahead quickly by answering all the questions correctly, won Rs 5 lakh by using the first lifeline on the ninth question and the second lifeline on the tenth question.
Ashutosh also won Rs 80,000 by correctly answering 8 questions in the 90-second round ‘Sookshmak Sandook’. He bought a lifeline with this money and also won Rs 7.50 lakh by answering the next question correctly. Progressing with his acumen in the show, Ashutosh reached the question of Rs 12.50 lakh. This question was related to the world of science and technology, which forced him to think.
**The Rs 12.50 lakh Question:**
Question: Which award, established by tech leaders like Mark Zuckerberg and Sergey Brin, is nicknamed ‘The Science’?
Options:
A. Edison Award
B. Breakthrough Prize
C. Millennium Award
D. Eureka Award
Ashutosh did not know the answer to this question, and in the meantime, all his lifelines were also over. Taking a risk, he locked option C, ‘Millennium Award’, but this answer proved to be wrong. According to the rules, after giving the wrong answer, his amount was reduced from Rs 7.50 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.
The correct answer to this question was B. ‘Breakthrough Prize’. If Ashutosh had answered this question correctly, he would have won Rs 12.50 lakh, but one wrong decision reduced his winnings.
