War 2 is anticipated as one of the biggest films of 2025, scheduled to release in theaters on August 14th. The film is particularly special for fans, featuring Hrithik Roshan from Bollywood and Jr. NTR from the South Indian film industry as the villain. There is considerable discussion about the film’s opening day collection.
By August 13th at 5 PM, 111,000 tickets had been sold for the first day, across PVR INOX and Cinepolis. It is expected that the number of advance booked tickets may reach 175,000 before the film’s release. The film could collect between 30 to 35 crore rupees on its opening day in the Hindi language.
In Tamil, Rajinikanth’s Kuli poses a challenge for War 2. While War 2 has received a good response in advance bookings in Hindi, Kuli is experiencing a bumper success in Tamil.
According to Sacnilk, by August 13th at 6 PM, Kuli had sold 1,113,72 tickets in Tamil, whereas War 2 had sold only 8,310 tickets. Rajinikanth is a Tamil actor, and the large ticket sales of his film in Tamil are not surprising. What is significant is that Kuli is also ahead of War 2 in Telugu, despite War 2 featuring Telugu cinema superstar Jr. NTR.
By August 13th at 6 PM, War 2 had sold 271,364 tickets in Telugu, while Kuli had booked 287,644 tickets. In total across India, War 2 has sold 517,356 tickets, and Kuli has sold 1,440,621 tickets.
Trade analyst Sumit Kadel has also shared his reaction to War 2. He believes the film could collect a net of 28 to 32 crore rupees on its first day in Hindi. If the film receives positive reviews, this figure could reach 35 crore. He also predicted that the film could earn 50 to 55 crore rupees across India, including Tamil and Telugu, with a worldwide gross of 90 to 100 crore rupees.
