During intense rainfall in Delhi, a man and his daughter sustained serious injuries when a large tree uprooted and fell on them in South Delhi’s Kalkaji area. CCTV footage captured the incident at approximately 9:50 AM, showing the old neem tree toppling onto a biker and two adjacent vehicles near Paras Chowk. Bystanders rushed to assist the trapped individuals. Emergency services responded promptly, transporting the victims to the AIIMS Trauma Centre via a CATS ambulance. Sudhir Kumar (50) and his daughter, Priya (22), are currently receiving treatment for their injuries. The fallen tree also damaged nearby parked cars and blocked the road. Police swiftly cleared the obstruction by cutting the tree into smaller pieces. The heavy rains have caused significant disruption across Delhi, with authorities issuing traffic alerts and advisories for commuters, including a passenger advisory from Delhi Airport, suggesting the use of the Metro due to waterlogging and congestion.
