Following a string of successes in 2023 with three films, Shah Rukh Khan took a break, focusing on his upcoming film ‘King.’ Production had commenced, but an injury has led to a delay. Reports indicate fans will have to wait longer for King’s release, possibly until 2027. The film, which began shooting in June, was initially slated for an October 2026 release. However, a new report suggests the release will be pushed back to 2027. The film boasts a star-studded cast, including Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff, Abhay Verma, Arshad Warsi, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Raghav Juyal, alongside Shah Rukh Khan and his daughter Suhana. The postponement is attributed to an injury sustained by Khan, affecting the film’s shooting schedule. Sources reveal that filming has been paused, and Khan requires rest before resuming his role, especially given the film’s action-oriented nature. The makers are prioritizing his health and avoiding any risks, leading to the delay. Initially, the team planned to release King on Gandhi Jayanti 2026, but this is no longer feasible. The film’s shooting began in Mumbai, with plans for international locations. The release is now expected in late 2026 or potentially 2027, although there has been no official announcement from the makers yet.
