The highly anticipated film ‘War 2,’ starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, has finally been released in theaters. This marks the first collaboration between the two major stars, and it’s also Jr. NTR’s Bollywood debut. Although expected to perform well, ‘War 2’ is facing stiff competition from Rajinikanth’s ‘Coolie’ at the box office.
‘War 2’ is projected to earn Rs 52.5 crore on its opening day across India, according to estimates. The Hindi belt is expected to contribute the most with Rs 29 crore, followed by Telugu with Rs 23.25 crore, and Tamil with only Rs 25 lakh.
Despite the hype and star power, ‘War 2’ is trailing behind ‘Coolie,’ which collected Rs 65 crore on its opening day in India.
‘War 2’ also features Kiara Advani in a lead role and Ashutosh Rana in a key supporting role. The film is directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films. It has been released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
Jr. NTR shared his experience of working on ‘War 2’ and praised Hrithik Roshan and director Ayan Mukerji, upon finishing filming. He mentioned his admiration for Hrithik’s energy and how much he learned from him. He also expressed excitement for the audience to experience what Ayan Mukerji has created. The film is scheduled to release on August 14th.
Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol make surprise cameo appearances in ‘War 2’. Bobby Deol appears in the post-credit scene, which sets up the plot of ‘Alpha’, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari. Bobby Deol is set to play an antagonist in ‘Alpha’, while Anil Kapoor is introduced as the new R&AW chief.
