Rapido, known for its bike taxi service, has entered the food delivery segment to compete with Swiggy and Zomato. The company has launched a food delivery service called Ownly, which is currently in beta and available in select areas. This new service aims to provide meals at approximately 15% lower prices compared to its competitors. Ownly achieves this by not charging restaurants a commission of up to 30%, instead operating on a fixed-fee-per-order model. The service is currently available in specific areas of Bangalore, including Byrasandra, Madiwala (BTM) Layout, Tavarekere, Koramangala, and Hosur Sarjapura Road (HSR) Layout. Rapido launched Ownly through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Ctrlx Technologies. The company is also focusing on limited delivery zones to reduce fuel costs and ensure faster delivery times.
