In the Rangra village of the Naugachia subdivision in Bihar’s Bhagalpur district, grief engulfed the community as the mortal remains of soldier Ankit arrived home. While the nation celebrated the anniversary of independence, the village mourned. People expressed pride in the sacrifice of the brave son. On Independence Day, Ankit Kumar, a native of Bhagalpur, was brought home wrapped in the tricolor.
Crowds gathered for the final glimpse of the motherland’s hero. The entire Naugachia subdivision echoed with chants of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai.’ Before the final rites, the minister in charge, Santosh Singh, presented a check of Rs 21 lakh to the family on behalf of the Bihar government and assured continued support to Ankit Yadav’s family.
