Hrithik Roshan’s ‘War 2’ was released in theaters on August 14th. However, the film’s performance has quickly deteriorated. After only four days, it appears that the YRF spy universe’s plan has failed. ‘War 2’ had its lowest earnings on Sunday, while Rajinikanth’s ‘Kuli,’ released on the same day, has been performing strongly, surpassing Hrithik’s film even on the fourth day. The film’s Sunday earnings are detailed. According to Sacnilk’s report, Hrithik Roshan’s ‘War 2’ is trailing behind his previous film, ‘War,’ in terms of earnings. ‘War 2’ has a reported budget of 400 crore and has made a total of 173 crore in India in four days. The true test begins on Monday.
The film earned 52 crore on its opening day, but earnings have decreased with each passing day. It made 57.35 crore on the second day. While the highest earnings were expected on Saturday and Sunday, the situation worsened. The third-day collection was 33.25 crore, and Sunday’s business was 31 crore. The Hindi version has contributed the most to the collection in the first three days: 29 crore on the first day, 44.5 crore on the second day, and 26 crore on the third day. Telugu also performed well.
In 2019, ‘War’ earned 37.40 crore on its first Sunday, significantly more than the current film’s Sunday earnings. Notably, there was no contribution from the South Indian industry in the previous film. This time, a substantial bet was placed on Jr. NTR, but it seems to be failing. It remains to be seen whether ‘War 2’ can surpass ‘War’ on its first Monday.
The YRF spy universe invested heavily in this film, but things have gone downhill quickly. Recovering the 400 crore budget seems challenging, given the current response. The film was supposed to set the stage for future films, but its survival is now the main concern. Having so many loopholes in one picture indicates a significant risk of failure.
