Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV), a subsidiary of one of India’s largest automakers, has re-entered the South African market. This marks a new beginning for the company after a six-year absence. The launch event, held at The Galleria in Sandton, Johannesburg, showcased four models: Harrier, Curvv, Punch, and Tiago. The Harrier is a full-size SUV with a 2.0-liter Kryotec turbocharged engine generating 125 kW and 350 Nm of torque, featuring a large 10.25-inch or 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Alexa Car2Home connectivity. Safety features include six airbags, ESP, ABS with EBD, corner stability control, and Level 2 ADAS functionality. The Curvv is a coupe-inspired SUV with a 1.2-liter Revotron turbocharged petrol engine offering 88 kW and 170 Nm of torque, available with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCA automatic transmission. It has a 7-inch or 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Punch offers a 1.2-liter Revotron petrol engine producing 65 kW and 115 Nm, and includes a 7-inch Harman infotainment system or a 10.5-inch floating display, both supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Tiago, a compact hatchback, is equipped with a 1.2-liter Revotron petrol engine (63 kW, 113 Nm) and offers a 7.0-inch or 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
