BMW Group India has become the first luxury car manufacturer in the country to deliver over 5,000 electric vehicles, marking a significant achievement in India’s premium EV market. To celebrate, the company inaugurated a 4,000-kilometer-long high-power charging corridor, spanning from Jammu to Madurai. This corridor features charging stations every 300 kilometers along major national highways and in key cities like Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Coimbatore, and Madurai. The charging stations, in partnership with Statiq and ZION, offer capacities ranging from 120 kW to 720 kW and are strategically located near cafes, restaurants, and public spaces for customer convenience. The corridor is open to all electric vehicle owners, not just BMW customers.
In the first half of 2025 alone, BMW and MINI sold 1,322 electric vehicles, reflecting a 234% year-over-year increase. Electric vehicles now constitute 18% of BMW Group India’s total sales, with the BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase leading the charge, followed by the flagship BMW i7. The brand currently offers customers access to over 6,000 charging points across the country. These points can be easily located and activated through the myBMW app, which also provides real-time charger status and filtering options based on capacity. Furthermore, BMW has introduced a charging concierge service, a first in the industry.
