The Uttar Pradesh government is set to implement significant changes to its Electric Vehicle (EV) policy. Moving forward, subsidies will only be provided for electric vehicles manufactured within the state. A proposal outlining these changes has been submitted to the government, and a final decision is expected soon. This new rule is anticipated to take effect from October 14, 2025, coinciding with the completion of three years of the EV policy initiated in 2022. This move aims to boost electric vehicle manufacturing units in the state, create more job opportunities, and accelerate economic development.
