Russian forces have asserted control over two settlements within Ukraine’s Donetsk region, according to a recent statement. The Russian Defence Ministry reported the capture of Seredne and Kleban Byk villages following operations conducted by the Southern and Western groups of forces. Additionally, the ministry indicated that Russian forces targeted a Ukrainian military-industrial complex and temporary deployment points for Ukrainian troops and foreign fighters across 143 locations. They also stated that their air defense systems successfully intercepted aerial attacks by Ukraine, downing four guided aerial bombs and 160 drones during the past week. This development unfolds against the backdrop of ongoing international efforts, including potential peace talks initiated by the United States, aimed at resolving the conflict. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed his willingness to engage in discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
